Lamington National Park

Lamington National Park Road, Queensland

The Basics

The two most accessible sections of Lamington National Park are Binna Burra and the Green Mountains. Nature lovers will revel in the park’s diverse flora and fauna, while adventure seekers will delight in the many ways to play at the park.

Go on a guided full-day or overnight tour to get the most out of the park. Most tours start in Brisbane or the Gold Coast and stop at nearby attractions such as Mt. Tamborine and Gallery Walk. Take to the trees in a canopy walk, climb up even higher to get a bird’s-eye view, hike along one of the park’s many trails, or go swimming near a waterfall. Younger visitors will enjoy activities like bird feeding or learning to throw a boomerang.

A great tour especially for nature lovers
The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. The driver, Chris, was very knowlegeable about the places we visited and gave a very interesting commentary about them and the flora and fauna we saw along the way. The 2 hours at Lamington was plenty of time to walk a couple of the paths and enjoy lunch in the superb eatery where you could sit on the deck overlooking the fantastic views. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

I loved the trip, David our tour guide was excellent. The only thing I would suggest is to possibly bring your own lunch, food is quite expensive, was nice but expensive.

our guide Mr David Peterson was very experienced and knowledgeable, and able to keep up an interesting dialogue and commentary during the trip for us. he has a way with the creatures of the forest, coaxing all the native birds to come for us really made the trip memorable! only wish that at each place, we could stop for a longer period of time. still, i recommend this tour for a great day out from the city.

Our tour guide made this a very memorable excursion. He shared is knowledge of the area, of the animal and of trees. He shared some of his worms to feed the birds. We had some folks on the excursion from Japan and he was fluent in Japanese so he shared the same info with them in Japanese. All-in-all an amazing tour thanks to our guide.

Wonderful and very informative day trip! The views on Tamborine and Lamington lookouts are spectacular our guide is very kind and knowledgeable and showed us wallabies and local birdlife as we saw them. I have several great photos of the lovely robin. Recommend to nature lovers and photographers, or any other who want to enjoy a relaxing day in the mountains.

Were the only people from Brisbane and had to meet the rest of the tour half way from Gold Coast. This component was well organised and did not waste time. Overall the tour was good with the guide very knowledgeable. Shame that the overseas tourists couldn't understand time instructions.

The meeting place was very easy to find. The group was mixed, with some people staying at O'Reilly's overnight and some of us as daytrippers. The tour guide provided a lot of information about the flora and fauna, and we saw lots of birds. There is some independent time for lunch and additional hiking/bird feeding at O'Reilley's, before gathering at the bus and heading back to the city.
