The Basics

The Amish Farm and House showcases the culture of Lancaster’s Amish communities. Families with young children can buy a farm-only pass to explore the 15-acre (6-hectare) farm and one-room schoolhouse, or watch demonstrations by resident artisans. Visitors may also opt for a guided tour of the house and farm, or a bus tour of the surrounding countryside. Hungry guests have the option to enjoy a Pennsylvania Dutch-style dinner or an Amish family barbecue (Saturdays).

We totally enjoyed...
We totally enjoyed exploring the Lancaster back roads, visiting the Amish owned shops, interacting with the store owners, and learning about our hard working, God-anchored, and family oriented neighbors. Our bus guide and our in-house guide were both full of factual information, encouraged questions, and spoke with grace and ease. This tour was leisurely paced and very informative.

Lancaster County Amish Christmas Cookie Tour with Amish Farm and House
The families that allowed us access to their home were very hospitable and answered our many questions. I live among the Amish but I have never been their home. It was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable. Bonus was the extra cookies we could purchase.

Amish Christmas Cookie Tour

Lancaster County Amish Christmas Cookie Tour with Amish Farm and House
Enjoyed the tour. Only one of the people in the Amish home gave us two full cookie samples. The other two gave us tiny samples. It would be nice to get a full cookie - not a tiny sample. Also one home only gave us 2 cookies for our cookie bag instead of 4. I think we paid enough to get full samples and 4 cookies to take home. We did enjoy the tour though.

We got in love with the area and the people. Amish are very hard workers. Equality is a main part of their culture. A really nice experience. We learned a lot. They opened the door for us to see their world.
