Jinjiang Action Park
Conveniently located only 30 minutes from downtown Shanghai, Jinjiang Action Park offers a great alternative to city sightseeing. With more than 40 rides encompassing roller coasters, flywheels, water rides, bumper rides, a 4D cinema, an arcade, and the tallest Ferris wheel in the city, the park promises a day of family fun.
During peak times, admission ticket lines at Jinjiang Action Park can sometimes exceed one hour so book ahead of time to skip the line and make the most of your time at the park. You can opt for an entry-only ticket and then access rides on a pay-as-you-go basis or purchase a pass that grants you access to a set number of rides. For the best value, opt for an all-access pass.
Things to Know Before You Go
Jinjiang Action Park is ideal for families and thrill seekers.
The Ferris wheel charges an additional fee, even for all-access pass holders.
Some rides only operate when there’s sufficient demand.
There are a number of food options at the park, including a night market during the summer.
How to Get There
Jinjiang Action Park is located in the Minhang district of Shanghai. Take metro line 1 to Jinjiang Park Station and then use the pedestrian tunnel to access the park. Bus nos. 50, 131, and 704 also go to the park, while traveling by car takes around 25 minutes.
When to Get There
The park is open daily, with extended hours in the summer. It’s a popular attraction on weekends and public holidays so visit during the week for a quieter experience and shorter lines for rides, though note that if there’s not sufficient demand, some rides operate less frequently or not at all.
For thrill seekers, the highlight of the park is undoubtedly the Giant Inverted Boomerang, a combined roller coaster and drop tower. Additionally, the Moto-Coaster goes from 0 to 40 mph (65 km/h) in two seconds. Don’t miss the 354-foot (108-meter) high Ferris wheel, which takes about 20 to 25 minutes to complete a rotation. On a clear day, you can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Xupu, Fengpu, and Songpu bridges, and Sheshan Hill.
