Climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle at a centrally located pickup point in Barcelona, and admire the picturesque Catalan countryside as you travel toward your fist stop, the ancient city of Girona. Listen as your guide regales you with tales dating back to Girona’s 76 BC origin, and then embark on a tour of the medieval metropolis’ rich architectural tableau.

During some leisurely free time, see the great Cathedral, founded in 1038 on the site of a former Mosque, admire the spectacular Roman walls that defended the city from attackers, or travel back in time at one of Girona’s comprehensive museums.

Return to the vehicle and then head to Pals, a small city that grew from the foreboding fortress at its center. Continue to the charming fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, and gaze at the dramatic hillside scenery as you travel past Begur, site of ancient castle ruins.

On arrival in Calella de Palafrugell, relish the picturesque tableau of whitewashed houses and pristine sandy beaches, and set off to explore the rugged coastline. Sink your toes into the soft sands of the beach, take a dip in the refreshing waters of the ocean, or absorb the botanical beauty of the cliff top gardens at Cap Roig.

Reconvene with your guide and group at a prearranged time, and relax during the journey back to Barcelona, where your tour concludes.

Rod was a fantastic guide! Super friendly, knowledgeable and followed COVID safety precautions as we would have hoped.! Going to Girona first was actually better than what they state was planned. A lot of walking there up hill and it is much better to do this earlier in the day when it is cooler. I felt we spent a little to much time in Girona and not enough time in Pals. Pals is a quaint little town and we just loved it. Costa Brava is exactly what you would expect it be. The tour is super!

Lovely Beach tour with some medieval history

Our guide Enrique from Explore Catalunya was the best. He let us explore each place without rushing. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and he shared a lot of good information from history of the places to where to eat. The trip was enjoyable even more because we only had 6 people in a 9 seater van which meant we could travel comfortably. Overall, the trip was totally worth it just because of the beach on Costa Brava. Girona was ok and the medieval town Pals was ok as well. The beach was definitely the main attraction of this tour.

Great tour of the surrounding Barcelona area!

Excellent tour of the areas outside of Barcelona! The medieval town Pals was a delight as was getting some beach time in Costa Brava. Plenty of good restaurants with sea-side views in the beach town we visited. Girona was also an amazing visit. Certainly a good tour to see what lays just outside of Barcelona! Guide was great and abided by COVID protection measures plus was vaccinated.

Our guide was excellent, providing a plethora of local information at each site. The only criticism I had was: THE TIME ALLOCATED FOR GIRONA IS INADEQUATE - 3 HOURS MINIMUM IS NEEDED.

Hello, That you for the 4 stars. It seems that you wanted more time in Girona like the last customer. I am afraid that we try to please everybody, and some people prefer the coast. This way we give everybody something. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts anyway. Regards, Robert

Go with Pablo!

Our tour started with a quirky yet fun tour guide named Pablo. My family and 2 other girls went on a day we will never forget! We laughed, sang, ate, drank, listened and strolled through a town, an ocean walk and to a castle. Pablo also took a pic that turned out to be our most memorable Christmas pic ever! Lunch was Oceanside and the view incredible! Tour was 💯%!
