Jump out to snap photos of the striking Dunguaire Castle, a 16th-century tower perched on the seafront just north of Kinvara, then continue to Doolin. Enjoy free time to explore the quaint fishing village and tuck into some lunch (own expense)—perhaps try the famous seafood chowder at Gus O'Conner's or a pint of Guinness at Fitzgerald’s pub.

Cliffs of Moher announced they would be closed due to weather on Saturday. They announced this Wednesday. Galway announced all shops closing at noon Saturday. They announced this on Friday. Viator booked the tour on Friday night. We only discovered all the tour operators but one cancelled since everything was closed. Forced to ride in a bus and stand on the street in Galway in the middle of Storm Jorge.

Unfortunately we could not go anywhere because of a hurricane hitting the west coast of Ireland, which means everything we should have gone to was closed and driving on the coast was too dangerous. We arrived at the pick up point in time and we were told that we wouldn't be able to go anywhere that day, we were given the choice to reschedule or go anyway, to visit Gallway a little. No refund option. We couldn't reschedule because we were leaving Ireland the very next day and we decided to go anyway, since we didn't really have any other option. In the end we stayed on the bus basically the whole day, stopped in Gallway for a couple of hours but we had to stay in a café the whole time because it was raining and crazy windy. Even though I understand it was not their fault and that they couldn't do anything more, safety first of course, they could give a little refund, since we paid basically for nothing. I suggest that you book carefully, better only after march, when the weather is better because if something happens you won't get anything back.

Unfortunately we couldn't go to the cliffs or anywhere else because of a hurricane hitting the west coast of Ireland. We we were offered to reschedule or to take a short trip to Gallway (no refund option). We couldn't reschedule because we were leaving the very next day, we just went to Gallway a couple of hours but it was so windy and rainy that we just went in a café and waited there till the time we had to go back. I understand that it was out of their control and they couldn't really do anything about it, but at least a little refund would have been fair in my opinion. Check the weather before booking and try to go after march anyway!

Worth the 13-hour Trip

It started a little bit on the down side when me, together with other solo travellers, were looking for the bus we were supposed to ride. The receptionists at the Paddywagon Yours were not really helpful, they just let us know to wait at the outside. There were several bus drivers who were giving all sorts of instructions and it took about 10 minutes for us to get things sorted. It went out fine after, the weather cooperated really well, sunny and bright, no rains. The bus ride and stops were very pleasant, we were able to see a lot and the time allotted for each stop was just right. We were able to enjoy the Cliffs of Moher for a good hour, just enough to get a good view, sit around, and walk some more. We had a late lunch at a pub/resto in Doolin Village, limited menu, but food was okay. Overall, would recommend this trip if you wish to see great nature at the west side of Ireland. Oh, and BTW, Darren is a great driver, tour guide, and entertainer. Cool humor and very informative.

Viator (Paddy Wagon) needs to give our tour guide/bus driver Val a raise. He kept us not only informed with his knowledge of the countryside but his sense of humor made the trip very enjoyable. Having said that, the Cliffs of Mohr tour was spectacular.

The Cliffs of Moher are not to be missed. We were fortunate enough to have a partly sunny day at the cliffs. They are magnificent. It was a long day traveling from Dublin and back but worthwhile. Rory, our bus driver provided a lot of information.

This tour was a real high point of our European vacation. From start to finish it was worth the time and cost. Our tour guide was nice, funny and knowledgeable. The stops were well planned, the attractions great and the route was perfect. The cliffs are breathtaking, the state park stop is very cool and Fitzpatricks in Doolin was a great lunch stop. During the stop in Galway, don't miss the Irish coffees at Keoughs!
