This activity will end right where it started.
This tour combines one of the most beautiful regions in Italy with the loveliest time of day for a memorable wine-tasting experience. Meet your professional driver and guide in front of the National Library( piazza Cavalleggieri, 1) and set off in an air-conditioned minivan along the Via Chiantigiana scenic route. Enjoy the views as you travel through a landscape of cypress trees, vineyards and charming villages tucked into the rolling hills.

Your first stop is the well-preserved medieval village of Greve-in-Chianti, where you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs with a stroll around the historic town square and browse local shops. Continue on with a photo stop at lovely Montefioralle before arriving at your main destination, a family-run vineyard known for its excellent wines. Learn about traditional production methods on a cellar tour, and taste four different wines including Chianti Classico and other Super Tuscans.

The tasting is scheduled to coincide with the golden hour before sunset, so you can enjoy world-class wines, along with a snack of bruschetta and cheese, while watching the honey-hued light settle over the vineyards. On the return drive to Florence, stop in the picturesque village of Badia a Passignano for more photos and a bit of local history. The 4-hour tour concludes with drop-off at the National Library in central Florence.

The tour guide was perfect. The wine experience at both locations was exceptional. The winemaker at the Classico Chianti, Black Rooster was passionate, informative and made our overall experience wonderful. Would do it again without exception. Special shout out to Spritz, their dog, just a wonderful and worthwhile tour and experience

Our tour guide was excellent. Unfortunately, the tour didn't actually include the tour of the vineyard or the chocolate tastings, so we were a little disappointed.

Highly recommended tour! Daniele, our tour guide, was amazing! Super friendly/funny and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to bring us to places not mentioned in the tour to see amazing landmarks in Tuscany. He made us feel welcomed and if we could, we would book again if he was our tour guide again! The first wine tour with Viola and Maurizio was excellent! You see trully passionate people sharing their love for wine. We had a lot of delicious wine, way more than we thought! Our second wine tour was amazing, seeing a family run winery and sampling their wine. Lastly, the dinner on top of a mountain overlooking the sunset, was spectacular. We had a 3 course meal, with another bottle of wine. We are wine lovers but we couldn’t finish it for how much wine we had that day. The food was outstanding! Overall we would do it again in a heart beat. Thank you to Daniele once again for making this day even more enjoyable!

I chose not to listen to the negative reviews and I regret it. During the experience I chose not to complain as there were people not in our group & I didn't want to spoil their trip. Also, the guide seemed very stressed and I ultimately blame the company organizing everything. We started 45 mins late due to an unforeseen situation for the guide. I contacted the coordinator before the guides arrival and said it was taking too long and we didn't want to wait and we wanted a refund. It was sweltering outside and we had plans afterwards that would be impacted due to the delay. They declined and said to "wait". We were about to just leave when the guide showed up noticeably stressed due to his tardiness. I don't think the employer should have put him through all this and perhaps found another guide to help out. The result was the guide rushing to try and still give us a good experience and squeeze in all of our activities. I get motion sickness and sat up front. The driving was pretty rough for me, but I pushed through it. After making a quick stop on the way to the winery, the guide hit one and possibly two other cars while trying to manuver out of a tight parking space. I really wish the employer had backup plans in place in case a guide couldn't arrive on time, because I feel like our guide would not have hit other vehicles if there wasn't this added level of stress due to being late. The first winery was OK. My main issue is that they had a dog around during our tasting. The entire time the pet was right up under us, scratching, sniffing...etc and taking away from what I expected to be relaxing experience. Instead it felt slightly unsanitary. The next place wasn't an actual winery. It was a butcher shop with wine. The cured meat was delicious. The wine mediocre. Also, we barely had any time here as we had to rush through before the establishment closed. Again reverting back to the 45 min delay from the start. Dinner was subpar as well. My main dish tasted like a bowl of salt. The dessert was pretty good, however. Definitely not the best wine tasting experience as the coordinator promised after telling me to not take a refund initially when the tour was delayed. I've already booked with a better company to get another wine experience before leaving Tuscany and requested a refund for this one. I do not recommend. Even if the bad reviews seem exaggerated, please trust them because the experience was not a good one.

Easy to find location for pick up. It’s basically a driver (that doesn’t tell you anything) that takes you to a wine store and a winery for tastings (while they try to sell you wines) then you go to a restaurant for dinner, which was fine unless you have dietary issues. Not what we expected.

The title and description aren’t exactly correct. One actual winery tour and nice wine. Second stop was using a card to get tastings through a vending machine. We did NOT watch or see a sunset, but had a nice dinner at a local restaurant. (Which was an extra cost)Tour said 4:00-8:30. But we got back to Florence at 10:30.

Romana was amazing! She took us to two great wineries, and the dinner at the end was some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life. Maurizio Brogioni will be getting many recurring orders from my wife and I for cases of wine and olive oil. Not only did Romana take us two two excellent wineries and a great dinner, she went absolutely above and beyond what we had expected. We had a little extra time at the end of our tour, so we stopped at an overlook to see the entire city at night. In addition, she was able to provide to great recommendations for dinner the next night. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Well worth the cost and would love to do again.

Tour not as described

The best thing about this trip was the driver. Pros: 1) The trip was not cancelled even if there was just the 2 of us. It made it seem like it was a private tour. 2) The views on the drive was great. 3) The driver made stops not scheduled but had perfect views. Cons: 1) It was advertised as a sunset wine tasting tour and was supposed to have an outdoor wine tasting during sunset. There were no outdoor wine tasting nor anywhere close to sunset 2). There were also supposed to be olive oil and chocolate tasting and there were not. 3) Only 2 wineries were visited and 1 was at a store. It was not a bad experience, but, not worth the price.

DONT DO IT!
Ashlynne_H
, Apr 2022
Our tour guide Daniele was fantastic, but the corporate side is truly terrible. We did our first tasting and then on our way to the main event (the sunset winery tour and tasting) it got dark and we finally asked what was going on. He admitted that they were using a new winery that he hadn’t been to before and was lost. The roads were dark, unrailed, unpaved and mountainous. He asked if we wanted to continue to try and find it and our whole group unanimously agreed no as we didn’t feel safe and we’re all car sick. Our original return time was scheduled for 9pm, we returned at 9pm without having done the actual farmhouse wine tasting. We requested a 50% refund which corporate declined and so now we want a full refund for having to deal with this, they are fighting us every step of the way. Totally rude and zero customer service. Find a different tour group.

Demetri is the a phenomenal tour guide! He picked us up at a convenient location in Florence and took us on a wonderful scenic drive through Tuscany. He was super friendly and provided excellent information about the history of wine production in the Chianti region, along with other great tidbits about Italian culture, how pigs are used to hunt for truffles, how olive oil is made, etc., etc. He allowed us to ask lots of questions and provided great answers! We're total wine nerds, and he was able to go into some serious depth on the topic -- but I gather it was more because of the questions we asked. That is to say, if you're not a wine nerd he probably won't bore you with it :) Upon arriving at the winery, Maurizio took us on a tour of his vineyard and his wine-making process. He was funny, friendly, and extremely enthusiastic about his wine. We tasted four wines -- a sav blanc, a merlot, a Chianti classico, and a Chianti superiore. All four were EXCELLENT! Really, really good wines (and generous pours!) We noticed that he also produces a Syrah, and he insisted upon opening a bottle just for us -- it was also fantastic. We wound up buying a case, which was very reasonably priced and never "hard sold" to us (i.e., if you don't want to buy wine there was no expectation that you must). After the winery, the tour continued through a neighboring village, was like walking into a fairy tale. Extremely historic and charming. Next, we visited Greve in Chianti, and finally stopped off at the Michelangelo Plazza in Florence before returning to where we started. This tour was one of my favorite things I did my entire time in Italy, and I highly, highly, highly recommend it to you!

Great semi-private tour that turned to private because of no shows. Loved the passion from the owner and the way we were educated by Mauricio. Very friendly and treated us like family.

This tour was awesome! Giovanni was our guide and was super knowledgeable about the area, having lived there his whole life. Maurizio’s winery and property are absolutely lovely. The wine is fantastic, and I can’t wait for my order to come in. The meat shop we went to was also fantastic. Giovanni explained many of the meats and how they are made, and also what makes some so special coming from each region of Italy. We had the best time! Giovanni also shared many recommendations of things to do in and around Firenze, which was nice since we did this on our first day in town. Highly recommend!
