Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Experience the thrills and spills of the Swiss Alps on this 5.5-hour canyoning adventure. Depart from either of Interlaken's train stations, or from your accommodation in Interlaken or one of seven local municipalities. Meet your guide at the canyoning base, where you’ll receive your safety gear, including a wetsuit to protect you from the chilly mountain water.

The 1-hour scenic drive out to the canyon follows the impressive peaks of the Bernese Alps through Grimsel Pass. Listen as your guide gives a run-down of your day’s activities. On arrival, snap on your helmet, harness and life jacket, followed by a safety briefing.

Then put your skills to the test as you go abseiling (rappelling) down a 165-foot (50-meter) cliff face into the canyon and plunge into the water. Your wet and wild journey includes roughly 2.5 hours of fun — leaping off rocky ledges from up to 26 feet (8 meters) above and sliding down natural chutes into swirling plunge pools.

Your guide will show the way and ensure your safety, and even take you along easier routes if you're not feeling quite so adventurous. Zoom down a high zipline into crystal-clear waters below and float effortlessly downstream.

Replenish with a light lunch of bread, cheese, cucumber and tomatoes and a refreshing drink of beer or water. Afterward, hop back aboard your vehicle for the return to the base, where you can enjoy a shower and purchase a copy of your filmed trip through the canyons.

Afterward, you’re dropped off at your Interlaken-area hotel or train station, where your morning or afternoon canyoning tour concludes.

Please note: There is no exit for people who want to stop during the trip once inside the canyon.

If you're up for an adventure, do...

If you're up for an adventure, do this tour! I'm someone who has never done a lot outdoors, but has always wanted to, and this tour was amazing! It is a little physical demanding, but I would say the average Joe could do it. From repelling down 50 ft to jumping off of rocks to zip lining, it was an adventure to the very end. If going to Interlaken, I would recommend doing some activity from Outdoor Interlaken, as this city in Switzerland is famous for its adventurous outdoor activities in the summer. So if you don't do this, do kayaking, rafting, or paragliding. All fun experiences. However, I do think that this one is the best because it's 5.5 hours long experience rather than 30 minutes paragliding in the air. In my opinion, it's more worth the money. Also, they gave us fresh sandwiches and a beer after the tour, and we got to eat it while looking at the most beautiful mountain views! :

Do this! We had a blast! The guide was great and really made our experience great! You will be cold but they give you wetsuits and everything you need. Bring your go pro if you have one with a strap to document the adventure.
