Stop At:
Chateau de Chambord
From Paris, you’ll head first to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Blois
Having worked up an appetite, we'll get back on the bus and on to our next stop - the quaint town of Blois, where you’ll get some free time to enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII or grab a bite and visit the Royal castle of Blois on your own, notable for its unique mix of Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Classical architecture. This Royal castle once was the home of kings Louis XII and François I and presents a tragic history, as the place where Joan of Arc went to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.
Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Chateau de Chenonceau
Last but not least is a visit to the elegant Château de Chenonceau for wine tasting. The chapel, bedrooms and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings. Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici – two of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname ‘the Ladies’ Château’. After a guided tour, you’ll have a choice: continue exploring, or indulge in a second wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar. Three uniquely beautiful castles, good food and wine, all amid the scenery of the Loire Valley: this tour is a feast for the senses.

Chambord was absolutely...
Stephanie_N

Chambord was absolutely beautiful, but we had a very short amount of time to see the place. We then had to rush through lunch in Blois, to make it to Chenonceau where the wine tasting was literally just being poured a few types of wine and off we went. Except we were then informed that we would be getting back to Paris an hour after the time stated in the listing, so we had to miss Chenonceau and take the train back to Paris. This was the second tour with this company in a week, and both tours were extremely rushed, and this one we didn't even get to finish. Super disappointing.

Fun day!

Pick up was easy to locate. We loved the size of our transport vehicle and that there weren’t that many people on the tour. It was also nice to have a stop for restroom/to buy snacks on the way to and from the castles. The castles themselves were nice and we felt we were given a good amount of time at them. The stop in the city was fun, too and was an opportunity to grab lunch or see the other castle. Our tour guide was great and very informative. She genuinely seemed to care if you had a good time etc. The tour was long but worth it!

Chenonceau castle and wine tasting. We did feel a little rushed through the castles. Not a lot of time to visit

Not what was advertised
Joanie_M
, Jun 2022
We arrived on time for our trip that we thought was for 25 people. When the people started adding up we realize there was more. 48 people got on the bus that was over a half hour late and we had one tour guide for all of these people. Because the bus was late and wasn’t big enough to accommodate all of the people you had booked we were rushed the entire day. Sorely disappointed

We had Ami as our tour guide and he was the BEST!!! He had great stories and was very knowledgeable about the castles. He was very nice and considerate when it was a very hot day, and he made the tour very enjoyable. He also gave very good recommendations for Paris. We loved this tour, the castles were beautiful.

The guide was fantastic. The tour was well timed and executed, and the locations were breathtaking. We would highly recommend this tour to future visitors. The bus was also comfortable for the long trip into the valley.

A lovely trip
GEANINA_C
, Jun 2022
The trip was very nice and well organized. The time in Chenonceau Castle was too short, we regret we didn’t skip the wine tasting for more time in the beautiful gardens. As a suggestion: the bus didn’t stop for 4 hours on the retur trip, this could be a problem for older people, they should consider a 10 minutes stop.

51 people on a tour promoted as 'Small groups of 25 or fewer'
Glenn
, Jun 2022
We booked this tour that was described as 'Small groups of 25 people or fewer.' Our group was 51 guests with one guide. No apologies and no explanation on the day of the tour. All 51 of us were placed on a full size motor coach - so this was planned vs. a last minute call in sick scenario from a guide. After calling to voice my dissatisfaction, the tour operator offered 20% off. Viatour did not hold the firm accountable at all for providing the tour as promoted,

All the castles were lovely and John our guide was very informative. I myself travel very often but my mom has never travelled and always wanted to visit France so I brought her with me although she has bad knees and I was worried she wouldn’t be able to handle a full day tour. To my surprise, although we had to rush a bit to see everything, she had no issues with walking around since we were given time to enjoy at our own pace so if she needed to take a break, she could.

Wonderful small-group tour of the stunning Loire Valley
Lynette_S
, Jun 2022
Excellent full-day semi-guided tour of the Loire Valley. We visited the Château de Chambord, and the Château de Chenonceau, stopping off for lunch in the gorgeous medieval city of Blois for lunch. Our coach was comfortable and air-conditioned and our driver was charming. Mina, our guide, was kind and knowledgeable about the history of the area, and even thoughI have lived in France and have visited since then, was happy to learn new facts and anecdotes about these lovely châteaux. The included wine tasting was a nice break, although it left us with less time than I would have liked to explore Chenonceau and the unique gardens there. The small group format made it feel VIP and we were left to explore the châteaux on our own after introductions by Mina, which was wonderful. Highly, highly recommended.

The castles are both beautiful! Wine tasting was so much fun. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and I appreciate that they took us their and back that was a great feature. Wish we could have more time at each castle.

Deeply Disappointed
Maria_B
, Jun 2022
Very dissatisfied. This was not really a tour, more a bad bus ride to a couple locations where we were then on our own while “guide” sat until we gathered for next stop. It would have been nice if they wondered around in the castles and were available for questions. And the “luxury” climate controlled bus was old and very slow, at times we weren’t sure it’d make it up the hill… plus the AC was very weak or not working at all, missing shades so hot sun glared down on me, and got back 1.5 hours later than expected messing up our evening plans. It would also have been nice if just once one of the guides turned around on bus to see if everyone was ok - we then could have asked for more air or at least a working shade. No care or consideration shown even for older guest on bus. What information shared prior to each stop was weak and discombobulated. Needs improvement. We’d have been better off spending the long hours elsewhere. Our only bad experience in the month we travelled Europe.

They canceled, refusing to refund
Carol_P
, May 2022
The company canceled our tour the day before and then only refunded one of the tickets. They refuse to issue the second refund because “it was canceled within 24 hours of time of departure.” Even though THEY canceled it! Book at your own risk! Believe the bad reviews!

One of the worst travel experiences.
Anna_L
, May 2022
Guide stated audio system broken so we wouldn’t be hearing from her and we didn’t. She made no effort to communicate other than bathroom locations and be back at the bus times. We were rushed through everything because of waiting for wayward guests, traffic, lines and got back to drop off at 8:40pm. A wasted day, long and learned next to nothing.

Long day of driving
Damon_H
, May 2022
The bus seats were too small for the time spent driving. The tour had no microphone, so no explanation was given to the castles. We spent too long at lunch, we’re just dumped with no recommendation on dining.

Disappointed.
JOHN_K
, May 2022
Let me start by saying that I mis-read the description of the event. I thought it was a tour of the Loire wine region. It was a tour of castles. My mistake. That being said I was disappointed in the conduct of the tour. The bus was uncomfortably warm. And the PA system “crackled”. It was difficult for me to understand much of what was being said at all. Also, the tag team presentation fell flat on its face for me. The verbal presentation (what I could hear) seemed designed more for a high school group than for adults. If you are interested in castles, go ahead and take this one.
