Enjoyable tour. Our guide, Ryan, was personable and attentive to our needs. He is still developing his subject matter knowledgeable but able to answer most questions. The weather was nice and the terrain was mostly flat. Worth the money overall.

Gabriel was an AMAZING guide. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about everything he spoke about. My boyfriend and I are both high school history teachers so we just loved our experience learning about the history of Normandy and visiting the sights.

Great Tour - one missing stop.

Our guide Hugo was an energetic and enthusiastic presenter who was always eager to please. He was terrific overall - A+. The tour was very informative and moving. We had a great but tiring day. This is a full day trip with two 3 hour drives and plenty of walking, so be prepared. It was a bit difficult to hear Hugo in the back of the van owing to engine noise and air conditioning, so a PA upgrade may help. It would have been nice to include a stop at the church of Sainte-Mere-Eglise in Manche, where there is a model of the paratrooper whose parachute got caught on a church pinnacle.

Our guide Johnny was very friendly and helpful. Quite knowledgeable about D-Day and the area. We especially enjoyed the small group experience rather than a crowded noisy bus. Johnny took us to a neat restaurant for lunch and showed patience during our bathroom/snack stops. He had a great sense of humor. The sites were moving and reminded us of the incredible bravery and selfless dedication of the soldiers.

Thanks to Oliver for making this tour extra special. Oliver quite literally went the extra mile to make this a unique experience. Suggestion for check in: have something that identifies the company. There were several groups at 6:45 a.m at the pick-up point, with no way to figure out who we were to approach. This was a bad start to the day and could have easily been avoided. If the check in person had a sign, a binder, anything so people didn’t mill around trying to identify the tour representative.

Humbling and proud experience
Aaron_C
, Jul 2022
As an American, this is one of the most humbling and proud experiences of my life. Walking the sands of Omaha Beach and seeing the American cemetery was a truly memorable experience. Gabriel, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and shared so much information. I highly recommend this small group setting since the group is 8 maximum. On a large bus tour it it hard to hear the guide and also everything moves so slow with so many people. Well worth the extra $ IMO. TBH, I could've used more time at the museum (I could stayed there for another 2 hours easily) but I love history. This tour is like a sampler platter and gives you a little of everything. The D-Day ale is also tasty. Grab a bottle at lunch or at the museum. 😀

DO NOT BOOK WITH VIATOR!!
Katie_D
, Jul 2022
We traveled to France primarily to visit Normandy. After reviewing several companies we chose Viator. Our tour was scheduled for the day we were to depart home. Twenty minutes before our scheduled your departure, we received A phone call notifying us our tour was cancelled. I will never book with Viator again, nor will I ever recommend anyone else book with Viator either.

Our guide Adrian was extremely knowledgeable. He explained in vivid detail facts about the invasion by the allied forces that I had never known. This excursion was one of the main reasons for me to make this trip to France. It totally exceeded my expectations. Omaha Beach is hallowed ground and I felt compelled to honor those who fought there and those who died there. Visiting the cemetery and museum was an extra bonus. I highly recommend this excursion.
