Learning the history and seeing the expression on my kids face, as they tell me that this is what they learned in school now they were able to see it in person.

Bringing my children here brought back memories of when I saw this place for the first time as a child.

Excellent way to spend Thanksgiving Day. Our family did the Plymouth (English Village) and Mayflower Tour. The staff throughout the Village were friendly and entertaining. We were informed that Thanksgiving Day and Friday after Thanksgiving is the busiest day of the year. We were glad they were open for tours. It is such a great place to spend a day of thanks at this historical site. We thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet that was available. They were serving approximately 1600 meals on Thanksgiving Day. Please be aware you will need to arrange your own transportation from the village to the Mayflower/Plymouth Rock location. The town where the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock is located is quaint. It has the usual gift shops, “sea side” restaurants. We were fortunate to “land” at a Historical place on Thanksgiving Day.

The staff on site were pleasant and somewhat informative. Noticed the lack Native American participation. Everything was well organized and the facility was well kept.

The self guided tour of the “old village “. I was not aware that nearly half the colonizers died the first year.

This visit gave me a visual understanding of the Pilgrims and Pautuxets. The historian at the Patuxent wigwam was quite hostile to the Pilgrims but that is common to hate your own country.

The plantation was amazing and we loved the people dressed in genuine clothing who provided great information. The Mayflower was interesting but the Grist Mill was less interesting to us.
