Meet your guide and group at Director Park and depart downtown Portland for the charming town of Troutdale, where you'll leave the beaten path for the scenic Historic Columbia Highway. Learn about the cultural history of the area from your guide, as you pass along the banks of the Sandy River. Spy orchards, blueberry fields, and wildlife on your way to Vista House at Crown Point. Snap some dazzling panoramic shots of the Gorge and visit the museum.

Discover two of the Gorge’s most striking waterfalls, Latourell Falls and Multnomah Falls. Visit the classic Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge and stretch your legs with a short hike to the falls’ prime viewpoint, Benson Bridge.

Head to Hood River, a picturesque valley town renowned as a prime destination for wind sports. Watch kiteboarders and windsurfers skate across the water as you enjoy free time for lunch, followed by a scenic drive that culminates at Timberline Lodge, located at a whopping height of 6,000 feet on the crest of Mount Hood. Spend some free time on a guided tour of the lodge, famous as the setting for the classic film The Shining before returning to Portland at the end of your adventure.

David was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable on the subject. The tour follows a fairly strict schedule so you won’t get to spend too much time at each spot, but personally I didn’t have any issues with it.

I sent this once but again our driver/ guide Sam was outstanding. She was extremely professional and very knowledgeable and an exceptionally safe driver. I was in the tour and transportation industry for 40 years, owned my own company and I would hire her in a minute.

The Mt. Hood section was most scenic, but the Gorge was also great. The viewpoint was closed. But the waterfalls were lovely. Andy, our driver and guide, was great.

Worth the Trip

The water falls were like we have never viewed before. Mt. Hood was great. The trip was well organized. The guide while well informed but spent too much time on non trip related information such as where people were from and asking everyone about current and future travel plans. Some said he could have talked less and more about travel and more about the history of the area and more direct related trip discussion. The guide was friendly and helpful and did answer questions.

Hi James! Thank you so much for reaching out and for taking the time to leave a review. We are so happy that you enjoyed the sights and your day out on tour with us! We'll be sure to pass your feedback along to our team to make sure they continue to impart meaningful and relevant knowledge and education during tour about the wonderful sights we see and visit. Many of our guides do like to balance that out with some more informal conversation to help the group feel more comfortable and included throughout the day. We hope to have the chance to explore with you again in the future if ever you find yourself back in Portland! Thanks again! Wildwood Adventures

Andy was a wonderful guide, so knowledgeable, considerate, and helpful. I really appreciate that the company was working on July 4th. Time at each stop was adequate, and informative. Andy gave us warning of any expectations of the public spaces, and mapped out where we should go. There is a good amount of walking throughout the day. On our own these stops require permits, so I really appreciate the convenience of the tour. I would highly recommend!
