Roman Mosaic Workshop

My sister and I created two beautiful mosaics with the help of friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable staff! This was the standout experience of our trip, I think of the workshop and experience often. Thank you for the memory!

This class was amazing. I am an art history lecturer who likes to focus on process. The young women in the studio are all full of very pertinent information about Roman Mosaics, their history, context and restoration. There were 3 of us in the class and I believe we hung onto every word of the instructors. The process was challenging but completely doable. We left the studio happy and buoyed by our experience with our creations in hand. I will take this class again and try a more complex design the next time I am in Rome. When I teach the art of the ancient world again the lectures on Roman Mosaics will be more enhanced as a result of this class.

This was a great experience! We learned a lot about Mosaic history while creating a souvenir to take home with us. We definitely recommend doing this while in Rome.

This mosaic workshop was the perfect way to spend 2 hours doing something different than a walking tour of Rome. It was fun and informative. The instructors were delightful and gave us an insight to the mosaic process and history. Everyone completed a small mosaic to take home.

It was a wonderful experience. I would do it again and highly recommend it to others. All the ladies were knowledgeable and very informative about their craft. The music was great and the atmosphere was inviting. My friend was visually impaired and they assisted her in completing a project. She was so excited and grateful. Excellent experience.

Taking this class was an excellent choice. I learned so much about the history and making of mosaics and as a result, it enhanced my appreciation of the many and gorgeous mosaics one sees all over Rome. It was a great class. And I ended up with a small mosaic which I made myself! Can't recommend it highly enough.

In a small workshop run by two lovely ladies a group of 6 learnt how to do Roman mosaics. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours and our teachers were so helpful and informative. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. And the added bonus of bringing a bit of hand made Roman mosaic home is priceless.

Instructor was very informative and enthusiastic. Would recommend this for families with children as well. Planning to attend another class at this studio.

Our instructor Uliana was amazing!!! She explained different mosaic styles and materials, techniques and colors. We spent 2.5 hours making our little pieces which gave us a new level of appreciation for when we see large mosaics lol. Very worth the money and time and it was soooooooooooo much fun!!!!

Fue una actividad realmente fascinante!! Nuestra maestra fue Sara y fue muy clara y didáctica. Sin duda en mi próximo viaje haré otro taller. Lo recomiendo completamente!! Gracias por la experiencia!
