Private Tour: Singapore by Night Tour with Dinner

Excellent tour guide, would of given 5 stars but was disappointed with the meal and choice of venue for it. The evening Tour was good fun and Jean was a wonderful guide

Disappointing. I've been on this trip twice before, maybe it was with another tour operator. We had Bernard again, who was great and I learnt so much about Durian that I never knew. The meal was at a standard Chinese restaurant. On the other tours the meal has been at a location beside the Singapore River, so much better. The restaurant staff were surly, the meal was not exceptional and at least 4 coaches of tourists came and went while we were there, so its not quiet. On the other tours, we've stopped at the Merlion and seen a bit of the light show, not on this one. The Long Bar of raffles is currently shut. No mention of that on the tour booking details. Previously, we've been walked through the hotel to the Long Bar and given its history. Not on this tour.

This private tour was supposed to provide a nice dinner at Clarke Quay but instead we were taken to a Chinese Restaurant in a mall type building not even close to Clarke Quay where it was a food production place for large tour groups and the food was below average. Then we were supposed to see the skylines etc. but were driven around a fountain once and dropped off at the night market. We did get our Singapore Sling at Raffes Hotel at least. Do NOT book this tour - you can do much better on your own for half the price!

The tour started at an extremely low-class restaurant called Tian Tian where the food was largely inedible. The area was run down and a poor representation of Singapore. The 4 members of our group were appalled at the standard of food and we all left hungry. Attempts to order something different fell on deaf ears and the service was brusque and unfriendly. All in all, the meal was a total disaster and an insult to the upmarket concept of a private tour! The Bugis St markets section of the tour was designed to take far too long and was of limited interest. 30 minutes would have been plenty of time. Our tour of Raffles Hotel was no different from the non-private tour except we were a smaller group. We thought private meant that we would have access to things the non-private tour didn't. 10-15 minutes was enough time. Our tour was not worth the money and we would be demanding a refund had our lovely tour guide, Angela, not been able to arrange for us to see the light show in the gardens instead of aimlessly roaming Bugis St. We would not recommend this tour, as advertised, to anyone! It was a relief to return to our hotel to obtain some acceptable food. Angela is the only reason this tour even received one star! It must be re-thought as it gives Viator a bad name.

This was a great tour. We had our own guide that allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at each location we went. The dinner was good and unique, even though it was a set menu. We had a change to interact with a very knowledgeable guide and he was able to answer every question we had, and interjected antidotes that you wouldn't get in a larger group. The tour of Raffles was great. We had plenty of time to enjoy a Singapore Sling, which was included. The guide suggested several great locations for pictures. This tour was well worth the money.

Tour part was excellent. The guide was very pleasant and informative. The choice of restaurant was disappointing. We ate in a back room of a run down establishment. The food was mediocre.

Terry was an excellent guide. He listened to us, took note of our physical restrictions and devised a wonderful informative evening with many pleasant experiences. Would do it again in a heartbeat! We came back to the hotel smiling! Thanks Terry!

Wonderful the highlights of our holiday!!!!The tour was made extra special by having the driver and guide we had. I hope I have remembered her name correctly! Friday was her name.

Great. Guide Priscilla was very knowledgeable. Food at restaurant was good. Loved the Singapore Sling. A very enjoyable evening.
