Get out of the city and into nature as you visit the famous Mount Fuji and its top nearby attractions like Lake Ashi and Mount Komagatake on this full-day excursion from Tokyo. Along the way you’ll get a sense for amazing natural landscape in the immediate region just outside Tokyo’s biggest city.

Start your tour of Mount Fuji and environs in the morning with a pickup from select hotels in Tokyo and then proceed on by air-conditioned bus for your ride to Mount Fuji, heading up to a height of 7,607 feet (2,305m) above sea level on the mountain. Upon arrival at Mt Fuji, enjoy the astounding views of the entire region and an informative museum that details the ecology, meteorology, culture and history of the mountain and the nearby Fuji Five Lakes. You’ll also have time during your stop to check out the second-floor observation deck, offering stunning vistas of the peak of this renowned mountain on clear days.

Continue to Mount Fuji’s 5th Station, which lies about halfway up the mountain, for more incredible views. Take some time to wander the site’s souvenir store and its torii gates and shrines, which help commemorate the mountain’s symbolic role as a transition between heaven and earth. Stop by a local restaurant to enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

Head next to Lake Ashi, which lies in a crater formed by a massive volcanic eruption around 3,000 years ago. Take a short cruise of this postcard-perfect body of water, admiring views of Mount Fuji, Mount Komagatake and other peaks in the distance.

Move back to the lakeshore after your cruise, where you’ll continue to the Mount Komagatake Ropeway, which will whisk you to the mountain’s peak. Climb ever-higher aboard this aerial tramway as you head to the summit, where you’ll then have time to wander around. Explore the beautiful views as you explore the top of the peak, including great views of Mount Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, and Izu islands, among other features. Your tour concludes with a coach transfer back to the Tokyo area.

Fantastic Mt Fuji
, Mar 2020
Fantastic experience! Our tour guide, Sanae, was very pleasant, and friendly. Her presentations were informative and enjoyable and she was only too happy to answer questions. (Our bus driver was also great). The tour itself included amazing views of Mt Fuji. We were fortunate to go on a beautiful sunny day. Although we had been scheduled to go the following Monday (when it was forecasted to rain), the tour company let us switch our date to the Friday before without any problem. We were especially impressed since we inquired about this only the day before. The hot lunch was nice and we had a chance to try on kimonos and samurai costumes for photo ops afterwards. We enjoyed the boat cruise and the tram ride, both with amazing views! We took the bus back to Shinjuku but the Shinkansen was another option. While there was some down time while travelling from one attraction to the next, Sanae was very good at filling it, using the time as an opportunity to provide us with further insight into Japanese culture and language. Overall, it was a great way to spend a day and I would definitely recommend it to others.

We had a great day sight seeing Mt Fuji. The day was very well organised and we had plenty of time at each stop. The bus trip is long so make sure you bring some snacks :)

Very good experience, Kanae, our guide make a wonderfull job! The only "bad thing" to improve, Is the short time that we stay at Fuji Mt.
We got what we wanted.

The tour was not bad, we were lucky with the weather it was a beautiful day so we could see mount Fuji from every single corner. The first stop was too hectic, tooo many buses, everything else was ok. Mt Komagatake Ropeway was an absolute highlight for us, the view were stunning! The trip back to Tokyo was bad and slow because of traffic, we should have taken the bullet train that they offer.Overall, not bad, we did not regret going.
Mt Fuji, Hakone, Lake Ashi Cruise 1 Day Bus Trip from Tokyo

Too little time spent actually sightseeing. Changes announced at the last minute. For example, if the 5th Stop on Mount Fuji is anyway not accessible during winter months, what is the point in advertising it. The traffic from Tokyo into Mount Fuji is quite bad. 5-6 hours spent idling away in the bus. This tour needs a re-design.

I really enjoyed the tour. The weather was excellent, and we got lots of great views of Mt. Fuji. I'm glad I booked this because the amazing views of the mountain would not have been otherwise possible. I travel a lot and have seen a lot of mountains, but I'd say Mt. Fuji is the most beautiful that I've ever seen. It is truly a breathtaking sight. We did the optional lunch and i enjoyed that as well. The tour guide was good and sang some songs and stuff. Our itinerary didn't quite go as planned. We didn't make it to lake Ashi and instead went to Lake Kawaguchi and did a boat ride and ropeway there. The views were amazing, so I'm not really sure if its worse than lake Ashi or maybe better. The said that the reason for the change was that the weather was so good that it created a lot of traffic on the road to Mt. Fuji since everyone wanted to get out of Tokyo. It just makes me wonder if this trip ever goes according to plan since good weather creates traffic and foul weather surely spoils the view. One thing that wasn't so great is that the boat ride and roadway cars were absolutely packed. In the cable car there wasn't really even room to turn around. Maybe this would have been better at lake Ashi. I didn't do the shinkansen portion. I feel this was the right decision since most people did that and the remaining half dozen or so of us had the whole tour bus to ourselves on the way back, which was super nice and could drop us off near our hotels. Where as everyone else had to use rail stations. All in all, it was great for me and I think that we got lucky regarding the weather even if it did cause traffic. As I understand it, views of Mt. Fuji can be hit or miss.

We have been very blessed to have perfect weather to see Mount Fuji. The tour guide was great, very knowledgeable. A must see on your trip to Japan
Not worth the time
, Nov 2019
Our guide was super nice and did a great job and the weather was great so we actually got amazing pictures of mt fuji with barely any clouds in the sky. However the amount of tourists at the locations were insane, you could barely walk inside the shops. And we were stuck on the highway for several hours, which all probably was caused by the nice weather. If you REALLY want some pictures of the mountain I would recommend this trip but otherwise your time is probably better spent doing something else. I'm happy about my pictures but if I knew what I was getting myself into I wouldn't have gone. Lunch was pretty but light and not super flavourful.
