Campo San Bortolomio

This tour provides a great introduction to the distinct flavors of Venetian cuisine. Make your way to meet your guide and the other members of this small-group tour. Your first stop is a bar that occupies the former site of a charcoal store. Soak up the historic character and sample cicchetti such as marinated olives and polenta wedges topped with seafood.

Stroll over to the Cannaregio neighborhood and duck into an 18th-century watering hole on the bustling Strada Nuova. Sink your teeth into some of the bar’s famous polpette, or spicy fried meatballs. From here, cross the Grand Canal on a traghetto passenger ferry (own expense) and stop at the historic, open-air Rialto Market, where many Venetians shop for daily fresh produce and seafood.

Visit more bars in central Venice, each with unique atmospheres and specialty cicchetti. Taste different varietals of regional wine and toast your Venice vacation with a glass of sparkling Prosecco. At the end of your tour, say farewell to your tour guide and fellow food lovers at the iconic Rialto Bridge.

Do it!!!

Wonderful tour, lots of fun facts about Venice shared - Camilla was amazing - so lovely - Cicchetti was excellent- learned a lot about local cuisine and while they may have been small bites - we actually got full! Only negative feedback was finding the meeting spot - a bit confusing - would have been beneficial if we had the name of the building.

Best part of the tour was Camilla, who was such a friendly and knowledgeable host. Some of the food offerings were really tasty, though others not necessarily so. Overall it was a good way to see and taste parts of Venice that we would not have happened upon.

The young lady that conducted the tour was outstanding. I was not happy that the “local contact” telephone number provided was actually in Spain and never answered the phone when I and the hotel tried to call to confirm the exact location to meet with the tour guide. The hotel concierge nor the water taxi driver were clear on exactly where we were to meet. I felt fortunate that we we able to find the guide. My wife and I were so frustrated with the “local” number not answering we almost cancelled. You need a more reliable and really local contact number

Great food tour around Venice. The tour takes you away from the tourist areas to some gems you wouldn’t have come across without having local knowledge. Our tour guide was brilliant, highly knowledgeable and great fun. I’d highly recommend this food tour.

Excellent tour off the beaten path!

What a fun way to experience Venice! Our guide took us off the beaten path and told us all sorts of fun facts about Venice - both historical and current. The pace was perfect, the snacks at each stop were delicious, and the portions were generous. And the wine pairings were delicious also! Each stop was unique and it felt like we were seeing Venice with a friend who actually lives there. Very highly recommend this experience.

We really enjoyed our tour. Lucovida was a great tour host, she speaks good english and gave us some useful history and city tips. We went to four different bars where we tried a different type of wine at each and different chiccetti dish. Had a great night!

Don’t think I would recommend

We did have an okay time, our guide Camilla was amazing and I couldn’t recommend her as a guide enough. However I wouldn’t actually recommend this tour due to the price and what’s included for the price. I thought we were getting 3 hours of wine tasting and food tasting and a guided tour, which we did get however the whole thing felt so rushed we only got to sit down in 1 of the locations making it extremely hard to actually enjoy the food and drink it just felt like we were rushed. Tour only lasted 2 hours when advertised it said 3. For £90 per person I cannot and will not recommend this. My auntie actually did this exact tour in 2019 and paid £60 and loved it so much she recommended it to us however I cannot do the same. It was a real shame.

Camilla was our tour guide and was amazing. Really. She took us to places that we had walked by and didn’t even notice before. She was a great host for the city, very informative, very passionate, very helpful. Some of the reviews we had read before booking said to try to do this one of the first nights here and that makes sense. She gave a lot of helpful tips that we would have otherwise looked over.

Included a very short gondola crossing ride, the bridge/market. Thoughtful selection of types of restaurants and foods that progressed through the night. The guide was fun and made sure to include everyone. Would do again.

I fell into the canal upon arrival and was not feeling up to the tour. We knew we were too late technically to cancel. Our hotel concierge called and we were told to email a given address. We did so when we got home and were flat out refused.

This was an amazing tour! From our guide who had so much great and interesting Information about the small tastes to the City of Venice, I would highly recommend this tour. We visited quite a few very small bacaro’s and had many tasty bites that really filled us up. The spots were hidden and really no where we would have found on our own! If you are looking for something fun and worthwhile to do while in Venice, choose this tour!
