Versailles a little too big, too busy, too much

Wait 10m in dingy subway station, then 40 mins by RER C train, then 10m walk over cobblestones, then wait 15m in line before being herded along in crowded corridors, with practically no food or water options (we waited 30 mins in line to buy $7 soda). Beautiful palace and tons of history. Definitely worth it if you are into the historic elements. But overall a big time effort. Need pay extra for gardens, extra for this and that. #1 tourist destination in all of France, but crowds can be huge to point of 'suffocating'.

Versailles Palace is one of the prime attractions in Paris. the people who visit just one time to Paris don’t want to loose the opportunity to visit the Versailles Palace.
Hence in the peak hours, the Palace is getting crowded, and, possible to have an experience like you had.
But I hope you liked the pdf e-tickets with QR code which we sent via email, So you have no hassle about exchanging your ticket.
